Our Mission

Through cycling, inspire and develop resilient youth.

As a community-powered program, we prioritize safety, fun, and camaraderie to equip youth with confidence to achieve personal goals. Through outdoor bike adventures in a team context, we promote skill-building as well as an appreciation of and respect for the natural environment.

Vision

All youth in Northern Colorado can participate in recreational bike experiences, inspiring the community as a whole.

Cycling can be complementary to "traditional" sports like soccer, baseball, basketball, football, etc. For some kids, it is a more intriguing option than any of these, as long as it is an option for them! We aim to provide experiences that meet needs of the youth in Northern Colorado, in order to get more kids on bikes, together, more often.

Whether new to the activity or exploring competition, we believe that our programs lead to growth in sport and in life. We encourage all to view the bike as a lifelong tool, and to experience where it can take them!

.In 2023, through our own programs and in partnership with nonprofit partner Overland Mountain Bike Association, we collectively served nearly 100 young riders, ages 5-11, enabling over 1000 individual ride experiences. Community-powered, over 25 amazing adults from the community helped lead those in our programs, including teachers, business owners, community leaders, ex-pros, national champions, and everyone in between. In 2024, we are grateful to have over 50 volunteers helping in the pursuit to expand access.

Ready to have fun with kids on bikes? We need you!  Are you able to join us as a community business partner or individual supporter? Prepare for impact.

History

It all started with some innocent bike rides with friends.

The Wolfpack started in 2020 in a Fort Collins driveway as a meet-up group for primarily elementary-aged kids and their parents to ride mountain bikes, together. Through word-of-mouth, interest and participation quickly swelled. Rides were moved to a nearby park, skill-based groups were formed and the level of fun took off with popsicles, jerseys and more.

While remaining a word-of-mouth group, over 40 young riders experienced the Wolfpack in 2022, with almost as many girls & boys. Seeing the accomplishments achieved, skills building, and fun being had by all, we knew we were on to something for the Fort Collins community.

In 2023, with the goal to allow more youth to feel empowered through mountain biking, Wolfpack combined forces with 501(c)(3) nonprofit SendTown Bike Club/Ciclismo Youth Foundation. The partnership with Overland Mountain Bike Association also evolved. Between these offerings, kids were able to ride without their parents in a group led by other adults (traditionally other parents), focusing on skills, as well as join for the free open ride format available for anyone in the community to participate.

With the level of interest remaining higher than the available capacity, the next chapter is all focused on building the community and moving toward a model that allows for access for all.
